The Zapatistas are back! From the dark of night, the command of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation has just released the following communiqué.

As one Maya era draws to an end, and thousands of Zapatistas silently re-emerge from the dark of night to peacefully occupy the town squares of Chiapas, Subcomandante Marcos of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation releases this defiant communiqué from the depths of the Lacandon jungle.

Comunique of the Clandestine Revolutionary Indigenous Committee — General Command of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation.

Mexico.

21 December 2012

To whom it may concern

DID YOU HEAR?

It is the sound of your world collapsing.

It is that of ours rising anew.

The day that was the day, used to be night.

And night will be the day, that will be the day.

Democracy!

Freedom!

Justice!

From the Mountains of the Mexican Southeast.

On behalf of the Clandestine Revolutionary Indigenous Committee — General Command of the EZLN

Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos

Mexico, December 2012

Pretty oblique, isn’t it? What does it mean?

We celebrate these great news.
A small comment:
“Es el sonido de su mundo derrumbándose” can be translated both as:
“their world collapsing”, as well as “your world collapsing”.

Actually is more like “your world collapsing” in the sense written in spanish. Their is not correct, is explicitly yours = su

Isn’t the translation wrong? Shouldn’t it say, ” it is the sound of their world collapsing ”
Reword. Just my opinion
