Firoze Manji

Firoze Manji is an activist and public intellectual from Kenya and is publisher at Daraja Press. He founded Pambazuka News, Pambazuka Press and Fahamu – Networks for Social Justice, is a visiting fellow at Kellogg College, Oxford, and a visiting researcher at the Unit for Humanities at Rhodes University.

 

He was previously Africa Programme Director for Amnesty International, Chief Executive of the Aga Khan Foundation (UK), and Regional Representative for Health Sciences in Eastern and Southern Africa for the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC). With Sokari Ekine, he co-edited African Awakenings: The Emerging Revolutions, and with Bill Fletcher Jr co-edited Claim No Easy Victories: The Legacy of Amilcar Cabral. He has edited books on China in Africa, women’s rights, and trade and development.
