The following interview was conducted in December 2013 at Paul Mattick’s home in Brooklyn, NY. Paul Mattick Jr. (born 1944) is a Marxist theorist and philosopher. His latest book is Business as Usual: The Economic Crisis and the Failure of Capitalism (2011, PM Press). Brandon Jourdan is an independent filmmaker and media activist responsible, together with Marianne Maeckelbergh, for the Global Uprising documentary series.

This is the third in a series of interviews conducted with participants from the Global Uprisings conference, which took place during the weekend of November 15-17, 2013. Below the video, which is based on excerpts of the interview, you can find a full transcript written up by Nick Terpolilli.

Marianne Maeckelbergh

Marianne Maeckelbergh is Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Leiden University in the Netherlands and IOF Marie Curie visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley.
